August 31st - September 4th (Language Arts)
31st: Monday
*Homework- Will start read alouds for blue ribbon paper for those who have finished. If you still have some final touches, your read aloud will be on Tuesday.
*Vocabulary- I have your vocabulary packet to hand back. We will do a trade and grade for the synonym and antonym section, which has already been completed, as it was due Friday, August 28th. The final section of your Unit one vocabulary packet will be due Wednesday. Plan for the vocabulary test on Friday. More information will be given in class for which section to study.
*Shurley- No Shurley today. However, we will be working on a following directions excercise. If we have time, we will practice our Shurley jingles.
1st: Tuesday
*Homework- We will continue with reading the blue ribbon readings today. Make sure your final draft is complete for turn in.
*Vocabulary- Not due, Continue working on the last section of the packet for Wednesday.
*Shurley- No Shurley today. However, we will be working on a following directions excercise. If we have time we will practice a few Shurley jingles.
2nd: Wednesday
*Homework- Last section of the vocabulary packet is due. We will do a trade and grade in class. You may retain the packet to study for Friday's vocab test. Friday the entire packet will be turned in.
*Vocabulary- Trade & Grade last section of vocabulary packet.
*Shurley- (Unit 1: Group A: Lesson 7) Practice Jingles, Journal writing focus today. Another follow directions activity.
3rd: Thursday
*Homework- Study for vocab test Friday. Do not stress. It will be similar to your vocan packet. I will make sure you will know exactly what to expect.
*Vocabulary- Packet is already complete... just read through and study for tomorrow.
*Shurley- (Unit 1: Group B: Lesson 8) Recite jingles in class with C.D. Beginning practice sentences. We will be joining Miss Reeds class today. Remember to go directly to her room today.
4rth: Friday
Homework- Unit 1 group B (practice sentences) worksheet will be due Tuesday, September 8th if not completed in clss. New vocabulary packet will be passed out today. The first section 1-20 will be due Wednesday, September 9th.
*Vocabulary- Unit 1 vocab test today. Unit 2 vocab packet will be handed out.
*Shurley- (Unit 1: Group B: Lesson 9) Oral skill builder. Single/plural nouns, simpple subject/simple predacate, complete subject/ complete predicate. Unit 1 group B (practice sentences) worksheet.
